SAP CINE LAB WINNER 2025
Manuel is slowly losing his sight. His parents are thousands of miles away, chasing a better life across the border. And the grandmother who raised him is fading. Armed with a video camera, he documents everything — every ordinary moment, every face, every flash of beauty he's afraid to forget. But as his vision deteriorates and grief closes in, Manuel discovers that recording isn't just about holding on to memories. It's about holding on to the people he loves — no matter the distance.
La luz que encuentras (The Light You Find) is a feature-length fiction screenplay by Juan José Posso, developed as his degree project at the Universidad Autónoma de Occidente under the guidance of director and screenwriter William Vega, known for La Sirga (2012) and Sal (2018). The project participated in the tenth edition of SAPCINE at the Cali International Film Festival, where Juan José was invited as a semillerista and received recognition from key Ibero-American industry allies, including a Script Doctor session by Juan Pablo Gómez and Iria Conchero (Ciudad Cinema / Mandrágora Cine, Mexico) and a pitch deck consultation by Mariano Turek (Libre Cine, Argentina).
